Problem

Workshop planners brought together stakeholders from across the entire AARP organization to rally support for a particularly ambitious business plan. Although the organization takes great pride in the commitment of its staff, there was concern among leadership that some had lost the connection to their membership.

Solution

I conducted dozens of interviews with retired individuals and the groups and volunteers dedicated to serve their needs. Rather than presenting dry statistical or anecdotal data at the workshop, I created highlight reels from my interviews and from footage of extensive focus group research conducted earlier in the year.

We played the short videos throughout the workshop to infuse conversations with the realities of 21st century retirement.
